I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since my last update.

I don’t currently have a ton of time to write an update right now because I am still working a lot whilst trying to keep up with this nomad life. I am dancing dangerously close to missing a deadline. Yikes!

Right now, I am sitting at the back of the Broadmoor Library in Shreveport, LA, which has become my office every work day.

The chair situation at the AirBnB was and is still terrible, so I come here to enjoy the somewhat ergnomically-friendly chairs, retro architecture, freezing cold air conditioning (god bless whoever controls the thermostat) and quiet.

Every visit presents some annoying person or group of small kids who do not quite follow the library rules, but none of the interactions have been egregious enough to keep me away from this place.

Visiting the library over these past weeks has been so nice. I love libraries. I love librarians. I love being surrounded by collected sheets of paper, assembled into books, by some person who cared enough about the topic to do so, even if they were unsure if anyone would read their work or not.

I also love the ‘vibes’ of a library. I am a very curious person and I find uncurious people to be weird and daft and boring, if I am honest. How could you not be endlessly curious, as a bipedal creature, assigned to a life on a rock hurling through mostly empty space? You’ve been assigned to a life that is full of stories: from the ones in your own mind to the ones that make up the society and political climate in which you exist (like your religion and a lot of the beliefs you have about yourself and the world around you). The fun thing is that one day, you’ll wake up and realize that most of the stories you believe and even enjoy are false, and when that happens, you can enjoy the stories even more, from another perspective.

But my love of the library is connected to a question that I think about often: How could you live in a world of stories and not want to be surrounded by the physical embodiments of stories?

Is my adoration for libraries and books and the keepers of both not totally apparent yet?

I must put down my adoration at this time and return to the drudgery that allows me to pay for this time in the Broadmoor Library.

Until the next update, my friends!

When was the last time you played BINGO? What do you imagine when you hear the words Let’s play BINGO? Perhaps you see a vision of old ladies, gently calling B-6, using wooden chips or cheerful dauber markers to mark off B-6? Well, dear reader, you would be WRONG! At least in the case of…
