Don’t Come to Shreveport for Mexican Food

Today I tried again to find some decent Mexican food in Shreveport and so far my score is 0/2.

I went to the Casa Jimador restaurant in the Pierremont Mall, which is close to my AirBnB.

Disappointing Mexican restaurant in Pierremont Mall named Casa Jimador.

The service was great, but the food was mediocre, although it was better than the food at Ki Mexico and less expensive.

I will say that the queso was REALLY good, but the green salsa had just an ok level of flavor and that is saying a lot from someone who frequently eats at Luby’s. The green salsa was not spicy.

The food was also not hot and I don’t think the plate was ceramic.

I am used to getting searingly hot food when I visit Mexican restaurants, with the waiter yelling HOT PLATE when the food is brought to the table.

I am also used to seeing Mexican waiters and other staff when inside a Mexican restaurant. I was looking around at the staff so confused. Where was the authenticity?

Well, shame on me for trying to find tasty Mexican food in Shreveport, Louisiana, ha! I will try a few more places before I leave because what do you mean I have to go all the way back to Houston for even slightly better than mediocre Mexican food?!

But, honestly, I should have known that this place was hella fraudulent when I walked in and they were playing COUNTRY MUSIC. Not even country music in Spanish! What the actual hell was this foolishness and f*ckery!

After the mediocre ass meal, I decided to walk around this “mall”. Pierremont Mall has never been a real mall, even back in the 1990s and 2000s when malls were much more popular. It is more like an enclosed, small collection of stores, and now, it’s barely even that.

It was nice to see that an artist has a studio space inside the mall, though. There was also a nail shop and a children’s boutique that was selling five pieces of clothing for $25.

I wonder what are the names of these festive musicians depicted in this painting.

There were a few other mildly interesting things to look at in the mall, but there was an old lady inside getting her steps in (I can’t blame her; the heat is torturous right now), and I didn’t want her to think I was photographing her.

What do you think of this riveting content that I am producing? Ha!

Thanks for reading and I’ll see ya later.
